Here is a chance of a lifetime to buy a super rare 1989 Mercedes 300ce AMG Wide Body. Its not a fiber glass body and this was done back in the day at the AMG shop in the LA area. I am the third owner. The car is MINT with about 120k miles. I have owned the car since last year and bought it from an enthusiast. It was smogged last year.
The car has no real issues. The engine is super strong. It has new water pump, AC has been converted so its ice cold. All the electronics work. Wood looks brand new. It has the AMG steering wheel, AMG shifter and AMG mats.
The car has brand new tires on super clean AMG rims.
This car is too unique to go into too much detail. A true enthusiast would know what a steal this is. It also has a AMG vanity plate which i might give up.
Color is peral black with smoke lights. Its a menacing looking benz.
Dont waste my time.............real buyers will be welcome.

BHMA did a few of these wide body conversions, I would agree its rare, if I remember correctly, there were problems getting the wide body kits from AMG, demand far exceeded supply and AMG really wasn't interested in stepping up production.

I don't think it's an AMG but it looks good. I like the front with the older bumper and newer lights. Nice cars too...

True though, that this car is just a 300ce with a bunch of bolt on AMG parts, but those parts are expensive. I would concur that 12.5 is way too much for this vehicle, especially with no motor mods, 7-8k would be about spot on. Also, the fact its a pre-90 hurts resale as well, especially on the CE.

At first look it appears to be a stock body but the rear flares look extended ~inch. Subtle but maybe this is why he describes it as widebody.

AMG and it's franchise locations built to the owners spec....whatever you wanted they would do.
It's not a true widebody as the widebody coupe made it's intro as a 320CE.
The widebody had the room to accept the 17 x 10 3 piece Aero rims in the rear.
Interesting car.....the seller should have taken much better pix.
Price is not so bad as you couldn't replicate the body work on a clean stock coupe.

Engine has the EZL upgrade and a transmission module upgrade with quicker shifts. It has the regular 300ce motor. I had plans to put an E55 motor in the car as one of the guys has done it in Australia. He also owns a 300ce WideBody. Its my understanding that its 1 of 21.

Did'nt the AMG lettering molded into the Spoiler --- picture is not close up, but that looks like stick on chrome AMG lettering on the rear spoiler. Agreed, not authentic, good looking replica. I'd buy the Aero I's off of it... Mine were stolen about 5 years back...
