300 ce amg wide body
did amg make a wide arched kit for the 124 300ce 1989? has any one got photo's, also mine has had some tuning on the engine (amg cam, manual adjusting tappets) can anyone give me some info on what amg did to the engines back in 1989. also tappet settings info. its very rapid ,so i think it may have had a increase in cc.has anyone else seen one in the uk. cheers!

300 CE Widebody
AMG did not make one. The alternative is to use 500E front
fenders and Bumper. You will have to make up your own rear flares . In '89 it was more likely to be a 3.2 litre. Valve clearance intake cold .15mm, exhaust .30mm. Horsepower around 235,torque 317nm.Compression ratio 10:1. |
t-machine talks ****, amg did make a widebody 124 ce, in 1989, coz i own it.
|
Yes, widebody existed. Serious money at the time.

"1AMG" is currently owned by a poster "NickGed" aka "The Widebody" who posted above and is in the UK. Original Strattons build as pictured below. Believe only two made in RHD. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../Hammer2-1.jpg Only one known kit exists and it too resides in the UK. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...103_4263-2.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...103_4264-2.jpg I'm in the process of a replica/tribute build based on patterning the kit. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...IDEBODY148.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...IDEBODY195.jpg The Stratton cars were the earliest builds using the M103-12V expanded to 3.2L. My research shows that no widebody 124 coupes were built in the USA and Germany built a few V8 C124 widebodies. Japan has built several but difficult to track. The C124 widebody is probably one of the rarest AMG builds. Ed A. |
rich moulton seems to be a previous owner of my car!!!!
looks like he tried to find its provenance, couldn't, and sold it, probably due to the voltage op relay and faulty rotor arm, which was causing it to run badly when I purchased it. |
Hey Widebody, according to your sig you're soon to be 6 speed. Care to explain? :D

Didn't notice that the original thread goes back to 2003...

I am not going to discuss or post anything about the ricer mods i do to my cars any more. I am tired of having to take my time to justify myself. if you have normal power output, go look on 190.rev for the 6 speed options available. basically 6 speed m111 engines, just use their clutches and possibly flywheels, to overcome the difference in input shaft sizes. |

it validated the possibility that this is the same car. :nix: And Widebody, you save time if you just skip over responding to critics. Your car is interesting and belongs here. :zoom: |
