Trans won't shift out of first
 

I have a 91 300e with 220k mi on it. Trans has always shifted hard from 1st to 2nd since I got it. About 2 weeks ago it started flaring from 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th. Today I got in and it wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. Should I just put a trans in it since there is so many miles on it. I already replaced the trans filter.
And what is this K1 spring I'm hearing about? would that be causing this problem. I've never had any slipping problems once it was actually in gear before either

K1 spring kit only addresses the 2nd->3rd shifting flare. I got one at the dealership 2 days ago for $7.88 to put on my 300TE in the next month as it has the flare
PN# 126 270 44 77. It is identified as a "Thrust Pin", although it is a "kit".

I believe your 1-2 shift is a separate issue. If you have already replaced the FLUID AND FILTER, first check the linkage and make sure it has not broken off or anything.
