94 E420.... Why NO Climate Control ???!!!

Forum Friends........ Need some advise and HELP !! My 1994 E420 has issue with entire climate control/AC panel . NONE of the buttons work for fan , vents, etc. Nothing. When i push ANY button - I get Nothing. I have replaced the entire push button climate control AC part with a KNOWN working unit AND replaced the 30amp strip fuse under hood....Any other advise, suggestions, or experience on what to check Next???? THANKS; in advance to ALL input

A common problem with 94/95 E-class models is the blower motor and the blower motor regulator. If either is bad you will not get any air out of the vents. Hence your heater, AC and push button control might be working but you're not feeling any air coming out and assuming the push button control is bad when it may be the blower motor and regulator.

^ The blower motor is common with all w124's unfortunately...First check the regulator is okay, then replace the entire motor. It's quite an involved job unfortunately I hear...

Thanks OJ

THANKS OJ'sDNA.....That seems Very Viable . OK so i have a 94 E320 "parts car" in my garage. Do You know if the 94 E320 blower motor AND regulator are INTERCHANGABLE into the 94 E420 ???? I am not at home now Or i would start digging for part numbers right now. Maybe You can spare me getting greased up today ....THANKS Again OJ

So unfortunately you'll need to determine if your motor is with or without filters. Both the regulator and the motor are different based on whether the filters are present or not... go figure... It is a pretty involved DIY but not impossible. If you know what you're doing about 30 minutes. If not, hours....

This is where I bought my parts and they worked great - seems as the 95 E320/E420 and E300D for that matter all use the same blower motor, motor regulator and cabin filter.

I did this job and it is a pita but it can be done! The good news is it requires more patience than real mechanical ability so anyone can do this job. Good luck.
