How on earth do you remove the fuel feed line from the In-Tank strainer...

I have the rubber covering pulled back how do you extract the fuel feed line from the bottom of the In-Tank strainer...

It looks like it fits into a metal sleeve...

It was a 19mm 12 point combination wrench for the fuel feed line nut

Im about to pull out the in tank strainer didn't have time today...

Do you plan on replacing the strainer with a fresh one or are you just going to clean it out?

Still trying to get the strainer out! Been workin overtime at work lately building things...

It looks like the strainer is one with the fuel tank. Meaning that it looks like there's an absence of a gap in between the strainer and the fuel tank. Its been painted solid. I might just leave it and put the fresh new hose's on for now...

I have to replace the in-tank strainer since my fuel line is a different aftermarket size that requires a new strainer...

A 46mm socket is needed to get the strainer out.

Anyone got any ideas as to what else I could use that would be equivalent to the factory tool?

I bought the factory tool from Baum tools in Florida! It was around 80 bucks!!!

I didn't have any luck screwing in the fuel feed line to the strainer. (Its not that easy screwing in the metal mail and female pieces in such an awkward spot) So I removed the strainer and screwed the two together then screwed them in as one. Tightening the nut at the fuel feed line with a 19mm open ended wrench. It's not leaking so im guessing its good...

My strainer was good I didn't even need a new one! You can clean it out with water if need be...

easiest way is to go into boot (trunk?) and loosen off the bolts that secure the tank, then pri the righthand side up with a block of wood. you can the get a flat spanner onto the nut, and remove the whole thing from the tank.

I'll have to redo it later. Im reworking a car that has 200K+. I don't even know whats on the car the odometer went out broke at 113kmi. Its had two rebuilds im guessing it has about 250kmi on the odometer maybe less.

I just did a head gasket change, rebuilt ignition, rebuilt cooling system and now I just finished the fuel system towards the rear now about to start focusing on the top of the engine...
