89 300 CE won't start
Car was running fine, then cut out. I was able to get it restarted, and it ran like crap,, then it'd smooth out then after a few miles died.
The shop replaced the Fuel Pump relay, disrtibutor cap, plugs, rotor cap, checked the coil etc. They got it restarted, I drove it, andd died after two miles... They can't figure it out!!! Help! |
When you state "died" do you mean that it still cranks when you try to restart but doesn't fire up?
My guess would be something in the OVP and FPR circuit. A proven speed signal is required to keep the engine running, if not the circuit shuts the engine down by stopping the fuel pumps. It's a safety consideration to not pump fuel into an engine that's not running. I would check this circuit from the source to the fuel pumps. Ed A. |
cheak the fuel pump relay behind the battrey, you will see a clear cap, open and cheak 10amp fuse if blown,if not open mass air flow with fuel distributer 1/4 turn at a time replace filter and cover befor testing.
