1992 500E on Ebay 589 miles
Will be real interesting to see the final price (bet it does not reach reserve)
Probably if sold it goes back in a vault, but I dream about running 2000 miles per year for the rest of my life on that car.
Oh, and the paint is all faded, and from the pictures, I can tell the trans is slipping. Good luck with that rat.
Oh and that 17 year old gas destroyed the engine, lol

OPTION 1:This car deserves to be treated as it has been for the last 17 years IMO.
OPTION 2: about 100 miles per month to include a 70+mph (US LIMIT) jaunt. The bushings, gaskets and seals should last indefinitely and in 10 years she'd still only have 12.5k miles on the dial.
OPTION 3: pamper it on "weekends only" and look at the Odometer 5 years later and wonder how you got to nearly 100k miles
- like I have done with my S55 (still dont know how that happened)Here's what I have done. When I first bought the car I drove about 50 miles -if a car will go 50 miles it will go 500.
Then I changed all the fluids and filters using MB items, no after-market stuff.
Engine, trans, brake, diff, PS, SLS and coolant.
Then I drove it 500 miles - if a car will go 500 miles it will go 5000.
Since then I put on 12,000 mostly trouble free miles. I say mostly because a rubber vacuum connector cracked. This caused me to cut a 1" section of tubing with a sharp scissors and reinstall. The damn car was down for well over 2 minutes. Mind you it didn't stop or anything, I just popped the hood and noticed the white vacuum line unattached.
After changing the fluids I would suggest carrying about 5 meters of the white hard vacuum line and about 5 meters of the rubber hose both available at your local dealer.
After that the "Jaws of Life" will be needed to get you out of the car.
Kind Regards,
Ron
