1. Remove ashtray
2. Push down locking tabs (under bottom edge of radio)
3. pull radio out.
I have read all kinds of ways to remove the radio including pulling off the face, but I have seen the Mercedes way done many times and it couldn't be easier. The best solution is to trash the tape radio (from another time) and replace it with a CD head unit. This move does not cause physical injury, but allows those in the developed nations who have been listening to music from compact disk for 20 years to also enjoy the same in their car. The o.e. speakers are junk and have a weird impedance that won't match anyaftermarket electronics. All aftermarket speakers are coaxial with a tweeter, and are four ohms, matching all aftermarket head units. The clarity and dynamics are astounding and enjoyable in this lifetime. P.
