Whoa. For comparison, installing engine mounts cost me 20$. The new clutch is the same. Full alignment is also around 20$.
We're wayyyy cheaper here when it comes to labor related parts, however you have lots of things we don't like Ebay, cheap cars, etc...
A not that clean first gen W124 goes for no less than 4000$ over here. No such thing as a 500$ car over here, unless it's extremely undesirable AND not very roadworthy. And you have a much wider selection of cars.
The dealer is relatively very expensive, but I'm sure it's still far less than 100$ an hour.

You should go into the global parts supply business
No. I made him sign an affidavit in front of witnesses that he pledge to pay for the repairs. It's a police affidavit, and if he doesn't pay I can simply throw him in jail.
RB, here in Beirut a high quality paintjob, including all the things you mentioned, does NOT run for over 1500$ with normal paint. I think the difference in price is due to cost of labor. If I recall correctly, it's something around 60$ an hour over there? We don't even HAVE a labor cost except what he tells you it will cost.
It's very common for cars here to be repainted, as well. Lots of cars are older, like mine, and the paint is faded. And here we have very few insurance write-offs. No such thing as insurance giving your car a salvage title instead of fixing it.
Things work differently here.
On another note, there are TONS upon TONS of shops that sell parts for prices that still stagger me. I bought the 2 right doors with all their trimmings, glass, and mechanisms for 60$. A later model steering wheel, such as you find on newer E-classes and C-classes go for 30-40$ without an airbag, 50-70$ with an airbag. I was flabbergasted! :P
I'm so buying it a new steering wheel.

We deal in liters and tanks here. 1 tank is 20 liters.
Currently, a tank of Premium here goes for exactly 22$. That's a bit over 1$ per litre.

If he went to jail it would make the lives of the kids and wife a little rougher, and they didn't do anything wrong.
I'm not saying he SHOULD just get a slap on the wrist and walk away from it, I'm just saying jailing him would be a little bit severe.
If anyone were seriously injured then it would be a different story.
With that being said, he should be punished in some way, or what will make him do anything differently next time he's in that situation?

What a douchebag, lots of retards driving on the roads down there haha.
+1 for cheap prices in Lebanon haha, When I was there I crashed a 260E, $10 for a headlight lens, $35 for a grill assembly and $55 labour because the sonova***** found out I was Canadian and wanted to rip me off. $100 total

.....and, in Texas, if you "attack" someone with your automobile, then it is considered an attack with a deadly weapon and will get you some serious, serious time in an institution where the boys you shower with ALL use "soap-on-a-rope", for a reason. And, not only that, but here in Texas we also have permits for concealed weapon carrying, so you never know whom you may be dealing with but you best remember to be nice 'cause the dude that you maybe flipping off just might have a Colt .45 and a bad attitude. (Texas is STILL part of "the old west"!)
just sayin'........

Wow here in los angeles california that guy would have had it really bad;
1) he would have been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon twice! (For the tire iron and also. for hitting with the car) wich carries a minimum of two years each charge so that will be 4 years prison
2) he would have had his car towed impounded and the crushed then he would have had to pay the cityt for that since his car wasn't street legal!
3) he would have also gotten charged with child endangerment times how many kids he had in the car so let's say another 2 years per child
4) aside from that children services would have to investigate the family to see if the kids are ok and if one little thing is wrong the children will be taken away from the parent ans put in foster care until the parent completes a certain course or something similar
5)he would have to take anger management classes
6) pay for you damages
7) and after prison he will be out on maybe 3-5 years parole and it will be super hard for him to get a job anywhere
And yes labor is an average of $150 and parts are rediculous $70 for hid lights! Crazy!
Maybe I should order parts from you guys ha!
