I gotta say it is starting to resemble a MB 190 Touring Car with that huge air dam up front. Hope that gap you have left doesn't make you get airborne !

Of course with that agressive front you are going to have to match something up the back. But please keep it reasonable unlike the one below !

The 190e EvoII is IMO, the pinnacle of bad-*** Mercedes design. The CLK-GTR Street is second to that.

Wow, interesting and pretty nice work

With that foam you should be able to increase your R-value as well as cut down on drafts.

Seriously though its working out nice it seems.

lots of cars
Great thread!

I tried to do this when I had my w124, but I did it the lazy way and used a already made front bumper. All I had to was to just cut it up and mold it into my bumper.

i have been wanting to get one but it just seems like all the kits out there now, you need to do a lot of monds just to get it to fit, i looked into the duraflex kit but i have been told bad things about that kit, i know it's not always going to be a plug and play thing but oh well just have to keep looking for one or just deal with what i can get, or if i had the skills like archiechiang then i would just do my own, but i don't lol

Looks good so far. You HAVE to lower it, though! It's gonna look pretty silly if you don't lower it. Also, did you cut out the stock fenders to allow for wider wheels?

Hey guys! its been a while since I've updated this thread. The car is now done! Although its not 100% done, the exterior is now painted and finished! It just needs some more buffing and some final touches like the spoiler and the mesh grille in the front bumper. I gotta say, this project came out GREAT!

However, there was a slight problem...

The springs for the foot brake finally gave up and the wheels wouldnt move. We had to put it on a bed and bring it to the mechanic to get it fixed. during the process, the bottom of the bumper and the right side skirt cracked cause it hit something on the truck. One wheel in front and one wheel at the back just wouldnt move. It took us an hour or so and 8 men to get it up on that bed.

anyways, im getting it repaired and finished by this weekend.

So here are some teaser pics for ya'll! hehehe

I really love how everything came out to be!

Guys! Dont expect too much okay? I was on a very tight budget. hehe soo... I had to work with what I had Its just a simple kit anyways, but for me it looks great. I'm happy with the result. However, its not done yet., The spoiler isnt done yet and the side skirt isnt repaired yet rom the damage of the towing.

Hey guys! Its been a while since Ive updated this.. So its done!! Here are some of the pictures I took when the paint was done! Hope you'll like it!

Front:

Side:

Rear: Need to get em Brabus badges now!

And here's a picture at night with the projector lights turned on. I gotta say its REALLY bright and it has a nice cut off. I would recommend these headlights to anyone who wants to upgrade or change their existing ones.

The exterior's DONE!

Now I need to work on the interior. I started out with fixing the sound system of the benz so I had my door panels fabricated. Here's how it looks like so far(will be putting in a set of Cadence ZRS6km on the doors):

with fleece to fix the gaps:

Any of you have ideas on what color the interior should be? As of now its Tan and it looks okay. But I will be upholstering EVERYTHING from the seats, to the ceiling to the carpets and dash. Any ideas? I'd love for it to look classy and stylish at the same time. I dont want it to look ricey or cheap in any way. hehe Please, If you have any ideas share em with me!

Thank you!

Props for a completed job!! The way the front and rear stick out and are so boxy isn't really my cup of tea but good on you for seeing it through! I'd def put a low rise arching spoiler instead of the extreme ducktail too.

Looks great

To me the boxy look that Zorro mentioned reminds me of a Chrysler 300C...

Agree with Z on the rear lid spoiler...

Sorry for the late reply! I've been kinda busy these past couple of months.manyways, I got the expanding foam from a Chemical company here called polymer Philippines. Not so sure where you could buy that over there though..

What I did for the fiberglass to stick on plastic is I sanded it down to make the plastic rough, them I cut small slits on it so that the resin and the fiberglass can stick onto it better. Hope this helps!

Thanks for bumping this, I enjoyed looking at your car. Did you do anything with your interior yet? I don't think I like the rear end, sadly. The rear bumper looks too flat to match the spoiler, but the flares and front do look nice.

What do you think about an all black car with blackout tinted windows and interior?
