Replacing radiator on 91 300 TE

Hello all,

I am replacing the radiator on my 91 300 TE 4matic and was wondering if I should replace all the hoses at the same time? In typical 300 fashion the radiator broke where the upper hose connects to it. Fortunately it looks like a pretty straight forward DIY job and the radiator can be had for $269!

If you already have the radiator out, it doesn't make sense not to replace the upper and lower hoses too. Cheap insurance. And it is a very, very easy job. Also take a look at your trans cooler lines too, make sure they're not seeping fluid. You might want to replace those too.

Thanks, I think I am going to go ahead and replace all the hoses while the radiator is out.

if you can replace them,go for it. it is insurance [if you will].

those radiators failed in one place, that stupid neck. replaced mine about 3 months ago.

Thanks, I am definitely replacing them, and also doing the trans cooler lines as well. Is there an issue with the thermostat or water pump? How long do they usually last. Could the water pump get damaged if a small piece of plastic from the broken neck part got sucked in?

I was able to get the new updated Behr radiator for $225 shipped!!
