1994 e320 coupe sportline
c124 won't start
thanks for any help in advance.
here are the facts as I can tell you.
1994 E320 Coupe Sportline
car was sitting outside over winter.
I was starting car every few days
tried to start one day would crank but not fire.
pulled battery charged completely & replaced still no start
bought a used OVP changed still no start
when I crank car can smell gas so figured fuel pump is working
bought a used fuel pump relay replaced still no start.
pulled cover off plugs pulled coil packs but cant find anyone to check them in
my small town
I notice plug wires have a gray coating on them is this anything?
did i change anything in the computer code by pulling battery to charge
is there anything that needs to be reset to start car
It was running good until this problem
nearest MB indy that i trust is 70 mi away hate to have it flatbedded to him until i try everything I can

This may seem silly, and I'm sure when I see the answer it will be obvious, but what is an OVP?

Overvoltage Protection Relay.
Little box with couple fuses in the top sits next tot eh relays etc.
Causes all sorts of mischief if it's failing.
Often people report things like ABS lights etc, bad starting issues because the damn thing has chucked it in.

Try this.....cycle the key several times; try starting it several times in a row, over and over just briefly. I had no start for a week and then in frustration did just that and then it started. Now whenever I have no start I do that and it eventually starts. In my case I know I have to change the engine harness, but I do not know for sure if that is/was the problem.
