W124 8 and 16 pin diagnostic socket reading/erasing fault memory with pulse counter
Reading fault memory::eek:
Ignition: ON Press start button for 2-4 seconds Read pulses and note Once again press start button Read pulses and note Repeat steps as often as necessary untill first pulse count reappears Erasing fault memory::eek: Ignition: ON Press start button for 6-8 seconds and erase fault previously Repeat the above steps untill one pulse(no fault) appears The above will help you in determining why you have problems with you car-----if you don't have a pulse fault list just post the number of pulses for the system you are testing and someone will post the definition of the number of pulses for that system(pin number) Remember if you or your mechanic does not have a pulse counter you/he is using the "finger in the wind approach to diagnose your car---very expensive:crazy: |
Thanks for the info mate, I've been looking into getting a pulse counter, any reccomendations on a good brand or site to find them on?

There is a guy on ebay that sells a reasonably priced(under 40 bucks) pulse counter, however for the life of me I can't find the link.
However with one you will eliminate all the wild speculation and whining about problems with MB's. With the pulse counter you will quickly find the problem component and plan of action!! |
Why spend the money? the car has a building scanner
|
NSS---however you need a pulse counter to plug into the 8 or 16 pin diagnostic port you had an epiphany on to read the diagnostic data!!----do some more reading!!
