How to clean w124 cabriolet interior liner?
Hi all,
I have a bunch of hydraulic fluid and dirt stains on my light gret interior roof liner of my cabriolet, and I am wondering what would be the proper technique to clean it while it remains installed.
Any thoughts?

Hi Bob,
The headliner in my sedan is made of pretty tough, washable material. I'm not sure if the cabriolet uses a different material. I would suggest trying Simple Green. It's non-toxic, cleans well, and I've never seen it react badly with another material. I suppose you could try it in an out of the way place to check that it won't make things worse.

Maybe call your local vacuum cleaner store and see if they do a genuine steam vacuum cleaner. I used one on mine and it works a treat - only issue is finding a foot small enough to get into the tighter places and it will be a little damp afterwards. Material is usually still pretty tough and will withstand a steam clean - try it first though.
