knocking sound coming from my engine
 

i have a knocking sound, i cant determine where about in the engine it is. maybe lifters. not to sure.

i have a video of the sound of the knock on youtube. probley dosn't really help but hoping some one has known of the knock.

Make a cheap sound probe from a coat hanger and start probing for sound rather than playing movie producer----you will get much better results and quickly find the source!!

it sounds like it is coming from the front of the engine. sounds like valves, when u rev the engine it goes faster, at idle, its slower

That's good news----"it sounds like" well then based on the results of your tests, I would recommend that both heads be removed and rebuilt----I say both heads because of the exhaustive "it sounds like" tests that you preformed----why take chances sounds like you therefore need to do both heads---the other good news is that because you used the "it sounds like" test method there is a good chance that after all the head rebuilding the sound could come back, and now you start the process all over again----practice makes perfect!!
