Transmission Noise
Hi I have soem transmission problem with my 300 ce 1998, makes CLUNK noise when put into reverse (sometimes DRIVE
makes WINDING noise when driving in reverse
(sometimes CLUNK & WINDING noises are louder than other times)
Any sugestions?

I've driven several Mercedes that do that, mostly older models in the 80's.
When that CLUNK noise happens there also is a small jolt in the same direction, like it just wants to go. I don't know what it is, but it is common.
Does that WINDING noise sound like a manual transmission when put in reverse?

Neronero you are absolutlely Correct. it has that exact symptoms, and this is a recent purchase. So I dont know when the fluid and gaskets have been changed. Any suggestion.. Yes I kow try to service the tranny.. but anything else?
