Boot/Trunk problem

I can't open the trunk on my moms w124!

It unlocks when i unlock the rest of the car so i have no clue what the problem might be! I can't put in the key in the lock on the trunk because there is mud or something in there.

It won't unlock because the lock is full of dirt or whatever, somehow you, she or a locksmith will have to try and clean the lock---what's the mystery and tell your Mom to stop driving on the dirt roads!

if this has not been resolved yet, I would try WD40

You can use a small screwdriver to keep the small cover open and spray some wd40 in there (here in Europe the sprays come with a small plastic tube so you can get it into small openings), then use compressed air to blow the dirt out.
