Smile Turbocharging a 320E

Hello, I just took over our old 1994 320E on my 16th birthday last November and I was always planning to "make it faster". The car has been in the garage for around 18 years but was regularly driven (twice a week), it's still pretty fast even tho it has 268K km on its mileage (0-100 in about 6.8 seconds). I considered engine swapping the car with an M119 5.0 from a W140 or from a W126 but then changed my mind. I saw a couple of 300TD turbochargers on sale and I was wondering if those would be compatible with a non-turbo W124 petrol car (I am aware of the turbo kit that has to be installed) and I know the potential answer might be no because it's made for a diesel engine, but still, I need a confirmation. I'm still a newbie at this and I'm looking for some advice because it just seems that no one tunes W124 Mercs where I live. Thanks.

You could do it. However, the cost will exceed the value of the car by about 10X lol.
