What aftrmkt wheel offset do u have? i.e. rub?

I am just curious to see what people here have in aftermarket rim offsets and sizes on their 124's.....now I had purchased/installed AMG aero mono II's 17 7.5-et 35 for my '91 300E.

I am mainly asking because I was recently thinking of going sport on the suspension but damn these are chubby tires....it would appear they may rub the fenders if the car was lower (I want to go only eiback pro kit) . They do appear to stick out *slighty* more than the last set of wheels did...

Not a 4 x 4

Although your wheel size seems to be the most common, it has been suggested that slightly higher offsets allow you to fit slightly wider tires. It sounds like 215/45/17 will not rub with the 17 x 7.5 ET35 wheels, but you can fit 225/45/17 tires if you have ET42 on a 7.5-inch wide rim. I have 16 x 7.5 ET37 AMG Aero Monoblock I wheels and I am running 205/55/16. With rims like mine, most people seem to get rubbing with taller 215/55/16 tires or wider 225/50/16 tires. They seem to be able to use the wider or taller tire sizes, if they have the higher offset. I would like wider tires, but I think they mught rub on the plastic panels behind the front wheels.

I don't think my tires "stick out" with 16 x 7.5 ET37.

Hmm interesting. see i had purchased the rims from tire rack and they suggested the 35...yeah man I'll have to take a pic of the car from the front like you did there to compare..but if i look at yours there now I think mine are out slighty more...really maybe a 1/16 or 1/8 " or so....it also maybe the potenzas too....they have an angled side wall but at the rim they have an extra outsdented lip that sticks out...

Chubby

You told us the wheel size but not your tire size. You only told us that you had chubby tires. Do you have the Tirerack recommended size, which is a 215/45/17 tire on a 17 x 7.5 ET35 wheel?

I am just curious, because I would love to have chubbier tires and I am always wondering if I can fit 225s without rubbing issues.

the front will only allow up to 215/45/17 ..... the rear i believe 225/45

i think if the width is 7.5 and the offset is too high it might rub on the inside

yeah, it seems that the only way 225/45/17s will fit without ANY rubbing at all and no mods to the fenders would be to use the AMG ET42 17" wheels.. which have been discontinued..

I have ET37 Evo Wheels and 215/45/17s and no rubbing at all even with the car fully loaded driving into big freeway dips and stuff...

btw, with the car loaded it looks kinda neat ... otherwse....

These wheels are quite nice and the price is great..$379. They are 5x112mm ands 17x8 with free shipping. Any opinions?
