1989 300e won't stay running
About to dig back into this. Bought this car several years ago with 209k on the clock, PO stated "had the fuel pump replaced, drove it home (about 30 miles) and it never started again". I replaced both fuel pumps with new Bosch, filter as well. Replaced the harness passing through the floor because it was rotten. New plugs, rotor, cap. Resoldered the over-voltage relay and fuel pump relays. Got it running twice for about 30 minutes each time. I bought an elaborate fuel pressure test kit, and it seems to have about the required 100lbs at the distribution unit input. It drives as you would expect when it runs, but...

You need to measure the pressure difference between the 2 ports in the FD. System pressure should be about 5.5 bar and the chamber pressure should 0.4 Bar lower.
Did you do all this?

OP when it dies... We need to know what is missing. Mechanical issues won’t be intermittent. Ignition and fuel issues will.
Do you get a nice spark at the end of the plug wire at the plugs when not running?
Good fuel pressure when not running?
A crankshaft position sensor that is failing will keep the fuel pumps from getting triggered.
