Kyb Struts ----- Help

I need to replase my worn out struts, so i went to local autostore and they have KYB gas shocks for $100 a piece in-stock. so I was wondering if i need to buy an adapter for them too? because theres some kind of adaptor/bracket thing also available for it, and it costs close to $40.

Please help.

Thanks.

you can get bilsteins for less than $500.00 for all 4. I thinkt he bilsteins are around $130 for each front one and $100 for each back one.

Better off going with the bilstein, which are oem as far as I know and you have the ability to choose comfort, HD, or sport. Sport only if the car is lowered with sport springs.

Fronts are a bit more than I thought, but. not much... rears are less than I thought...

Either way, you can't go wrong with the link I posted, or the one chappy posted.

lots of cars
depending on how log it is because if it's too low the shock is going to be too long and the suspension is going to rest on the shock mount and not have enough travel to go up and down...

MB struts cost

I just ordered two MB struts (124 320 76 30) from Rusty at MBParts for $179 each. These are for a Sportline model. I could have paid $108 for a generic brand from the local auto parts guy but feel the genuine Mercedes Benz parts will be the way to go. They will fit perfectly and for the difference I'd rather go OEM anyday. I'd also recomend a 4way alignment. My right front wheel was slightly toed in from a worn strut and will be perfect when all the work is complete. I figure I'm good for another 100,000 miles.
Mine is a 1993 300 CE Sportline.
Good luck!

Speaking of KYB struts, how low of a drop can you have for these? Minimum?

I just took my "almost new" rear stck Bilsteins off to install the Brabus ones - they don't have more than 500 miles on them. I only have the rears, though if someone wants them for $100 + shipping....

I also have stock springs & swaybars

My car is a 1995 E320 coupe, though I believe there is a wide range of compatability.

Send a PM if interested.

i need to paypal you some money or something, you help me out in every thread....!

www.adsitco.com has bilsteins at really low prices, i guess they are just regular ones. would i be able to use those with maybe H&R or eibach springs, or would i need to look for the 'sport' bilsteins?
Thanks!!

I've always found good prices at www.shox.com. It was awhile go, but I think I got my Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks there for my CLK.

that was the first place i looked, they only seem to list parts for W202's...

can anyone confirm that these shocks would allow me to add eibach's or H&R's?

I put KYB's all the way around on Bigblue when I installed my new sway bars! They are a little firm, but I like a tight setup!!

so this would be a fine choice, for 18's and almost a 2" drop, I need the stiffness cause bodyroll won't be much a friend here, I think?

you can go either way, eibachs are softer than stock while H&R's are firmer than stock. KYB's are also firmer than stock shocks, so the question you must ask yourself is: do you want Firmer+Firmer, Firmer+Softer-better compromise. Its up to you. Also different tire and rim sizes will effect the performance. Firm+Firm will give you more or a rigid race car ride feeling.

thanks man, but all i want to know is if those shocks in the link i posted will work with lowering springs or if i need to buy the bilstein 'sport' shocks.
