Hi All,

Thinking to upgrade from "Old" W210 Facelift to the "New",
can i just change the front/rear bumper or need to do the modification.

I think you want to make your 96 look like a 2000+ (Facelift). The front bumper cover, fenders, headlights, foglights, grill and hood are different. You can swapp the rear bumper and side skirts without too much problem but the front end mods would be costly.

NO...........please do a search on this section, this question has been brought up a lot recently....you would have to change, fenders/hood, bumper, lights, core support, etc........not worth it, better off buying a 2000..........

i like the w211 now but i still love the w210 over the w211, also the w210 feels like a mercedes as to the newer one doesn't but thats just what i think.....

for the update, just not worth doing.......it'll cost you way too much.........just fix her up, bodykit, wheels and what not and you'll be fine........

A cheap and easy way to achieve the "MY00+ look: is to get a Wald bumper duct that replaces flat grill in the stock bumper (Wald is now in Bangsar I understand):



By the way, the picture you shown on the right is not the "old facelift", it is a pre-facelift AMG front bumper.

Amen to that I have a pal at work, nice E500 but he looks longingly at my car.Granted the 211 is nice,,the 210 is classy nice,and solid,as per my dealer.

Hey Alex,Dave informs me you are the brake upgrade guru,what kind of upgrades can I get for my brakes,now that I have the AMG IV's,and will use my OEM SE wheels for snow? Can I fit AMG stuff in there? or should I just do paint on calipers,rotors,and BBL's?

BTW, another reason why your buddy looks longly at your E is may be cuz he's completely messed up his W211.........

It seems Wald USA will only sell them as part of the entire body kit. Wald Japan used to list it as a separate item for sale before but the revised site doesn't have the duct listed. I'll try to ask Wald in Malaysia and Hk to see if they can sell the duct separately. I have seen similar products listed in Japanese magazines, so I am sure they are available....

i have an 98 mod. I was thinking getting a facelift look too. But i am only thinking on upgrading the frontbumper. is this possible?

It won't work. You need to do the entire front end before the bumper will fit.
