Okay, it really belongs in the :topic: forum...but I'd probably never have seen it there.

From the report summary: ". . . cars with more than 200 horsepower actually generate 17 per cent fewer claims than those propelled by less than 200 horsepower."

However, at least from the summary (and who wants to read the whole report...major snooze factor) it doesn't appear that they corrected the test for the ratio of of vehicles in each class. Since the majority of vehicles are probably under 200 horsepower, the fact that fewer accidents happen to a minority class of vehicles isn't surprising.

Just like the insurance folks to only give you half the story. Either way, though, you know they'll use this information to raise your rates, no matter the HP rating of the car you drive. :wall:
