driver and passenger doors, noise!
i am sitting here at a coffe shop in ontario, ca. i am sipping water, remembering the 370 dollars i just spent on a driver side mirror today. i am looking at a wallet with barley 4 bucks in it , ( mine ) . damn ! thats a lot of coin,for a mirror. but....! it works and looks good. !
anyways, here is the situation, upon exiting the car, ( e420, 97. w210.119) closing the door, my side or other side, the hindge kinda makes a creaking noise like a freaking rusted antique. reminds me of a ford ranchero i used to own, ( a 68 ) lord, that is antique to me !
i do not like the noise, i tried lubes, of all types, to no avail. is the hindge gone, or is there a oem oiler for these hindges. /? help ! thanks

1998 E320 Sedan
My 98 E320 has the same problem with both doors. My understanding is that it is an engineering problem. I believe it can be corrected by replacing the straps betwee the door and the door jamb, but that requires removing the door panel I believe. Lube does not help.

straps, i will check into it asap. thanks, i assume door panel, interior, remains intact for replacement of the strap. if i'm incorrect, let me know, i'll go to ed soto page for 210 chassis info.
