Dumb commercial

Last night, I saw an entire 30-second commercial touting the amazing rain-sensing windshield wipers on whatever car they were selling (effective commercial, I can't even remember).

My '98 W210 came with this feature!!

haha ya it was a commercial for the new Toyota Avalon. I remember making that comment a couple of hours ago. "Hey my E-class has that feature already"

That is almost as good as VW's new commercial for the "cooled glovebox". My 1983 Porsche has that feature. Car manufacturers have started to be like pop musicians. They are coming out with "remakes" and hoping it sounds fresh to a new audience.

My 88 Pontiac GTA has radio control in the steering wheel and that's a GM product.

I am offended by your use of the word "dumb". If you knew anyone that was dumb you wouldn't use that word. LOL

I actually think the spot is pretty funny. It's saying how little fancy technology actually benefits anyone. I'm in advertising, so I'm easily amused.

Here an E in an advertising way, though- a washing machine:

The commercial itself is fine. It's just that most people would think 'gee whiz, that's a clever feature' without knowing it's been available for years and years.

Talking Double Secret Probation???

Hank, why are you on probation? Does it have to do with rain sensing wipers?
