Instrument cluster question

My outside temp reading was + 120- yesterday. I took it to the shop and I was told they need to remove the cluster from the dash. Of course all warranty covered... but I thought this would be a good opportunity to have the chrome rings put around the instruments...

Anyone have these? Any recommendations? The ones I have seen are sticky backed and I am worried they will fall off over time... Don't think that will look good sitting sideways in the cluster...

Zam has some good instructions if you do a search on this forum. Nice photos and easy to follow.

The ones that I got from Ebay did not have a very good fit on the tach or the fuel gage. The circumference was a little small and the black adhesive that they use is pretty useless. I ended up using some hot glue from the back of the face in order to center them and keep them coming lose. You cannot tell once the face is back on the cluster. 5 months and holding well. They do look very nice once installed.

sorry about the dup post... damn internet... hahah

yeah... I am just worried about the ones on ebay.. if I supply MB shop with them and they fall... they already told me they would blame the adhesive...

If MB gets them... which they say they are having a hard time finding them... and they install them and then they fall.. .they will be on the hook to fix them..

Also, the temp reading is wrong... and the display is missing pixels at times...

Got Pics...

Hi all,
I wanted to post pics of the bezels installed just in case someone else is thinking of this simple mod. Didn't turn out too bad and my temp gauge works properly... Bezels installed were $89. Labor was on MB due to Temp gauge replacement...

I hope the turbo install is this easy...
