The CEL du jour - a new one to me
Yesterday while making a U-turn, a 5-gallon jug of chlorine flipped over in the trunk with a thud (thank god it was sealed). Cooincidentally (?) the 'low fuel' amber light on the fuel level gauge began quickly flashing on and off, followed by a CEL. I learned years ago to follow my fuel level by using the trip odo instead of relying on dodgy needle gauges (every mercedes I owned had the same problem). The needle is correctly showing 3/4 of a tank, as I've driven around 100 miles since the last fill.
This morning, the light remained off until about 25 miles of driving (although the CEL came on right away). Sometimes it will remain off for only a few minutes.
I'll pull the code when I get around to it, but was wondering if anyone else has seen this happen, or what you might guess is the problem?
