would it be to "poserish"

Guys i hate seeing people change the numbers on their mercedes benzes.. but now i want to sorta do it to mine. Once i get my remus exhaust and get the body panels painted and get rims. I'm thinking about dropping the last 0 on my 320 and making it say E32 ///AMG.
would i be to much of a poser or should i debadge it?

it's really up to you. Some people complain when people do that, and some don't care. It's your car. I personally feel that its better to just debadge it and leave it clean.

I can also tell you right now that some people will probably come on here flaming you about putting fake badges. <--- these are going to be the only people that will notice that you don't have the real deal. They will also be the a$$ holes that will appear on this thread.

Remember, it's your car, you may do what you wish. Not many will be able to tell the difference except the hardcore mercedes fans. But, overall, I believe it's cleaner with no badges at all.

Sorry if I come across as being an a-hole as aforementioned.
But yes, it is a poser thing to do. If you wanted an AMG then one should have been purchased. A new exhaust and wheels doesnt make a Benz an AMG!
This is what I hate about cars going down in value.(They fall into the wrong hands!)

If you do that it should be called a E36 Renntech....not AMG

Also if you do the badge thing now either call it a E320 AMG (many members will hate you but whatever) or maybe just AMG (best would be to debadge evrything) but the whole E32 AMG thing is prettty weak...an AMG model that doesnt exist?

agreed. I'm going to just debadge it. couple questions though. When i debadge it , being that my car is parked outside will the numbers E320 be lighter then the surrounding paint. How do i fix that problem. Also how do i debadge it

You still shouldn't have a problem debading it. Just heat up the letters with a blow dryer, and then take dental floss and wiggle it back and forth behind the letter while the letter is hot. It will come off and there will be a mark. Then what I did, is I heated up the remaining glue that was still on the car and scratched it off with my nail. Then I got a scratch remover and easily rubbed the rest off. You cannot even tail that I had "E320" there in the first place no matter what angle you look at it. It shouldn't take to long, maybe 20 minutes.

I'm confused. Help me out here, tommygunn. Are you asking if it's poserish to rebadge your E320 as an AMG? Or are you asking if it's poserish to pour all your money into modifying an old Mercedes instead of paying your college bills?

The thought did cross my mind for a quick second. Then I slapped myself for even thinking it. To each his own, but I decided against it. Im proud of what I own. I figure this much...my car isnt an AMG. It might have AMG wheels and tails. Hell, maybe I might put an AMG kit on it. But Ill never pretend that my car is something better when its not. Im the kind of person who would put a E320CDI bluetec emblem on a 211 E55AMG.

I would leave it as is and put 'Type R' on the other side. But that's just me.
