The link you provided to "trademotion is perfect", it shows everything from the $6.00 cap to the entire antenna assembly. It should answer questions!

Or get the euro spec rubber tip at the Mercedes dealer for $13, part # 202-827-00-31

You'll need to trim a little rubber off the bottom and enlarge the hole in the plastic antenna base a little. I used a 9/16 drill bit but you can use a pocket knife, too.

9/16" will allow the euro tip to fit in the cover at the bottom groove of the tip. This allows enough room for the antenna.

Check the body / trim DIY stickies on benzworld.

Replaced mine Monday (paid $11 at the dealership for part number 202 827 00 31 as above). Just call the dealership and ask if they have it in stock - no need for them to know why. If they dont have it then they can order it.

Used a knife to enlarge the hole in the painted cover little by little (trim - test fit, trim - test fit), pushed the tip through to the third groove, and trimmed the bottom of the rubber tip (while still in the housing). Dont enlarge the hole on the painted cover too much as you can ruin it. All you need is a small allen wrench, knife, and back to black. Took 10-15 minutes.

Note - The black trim at the bottom of the painted housing may be brittle - mine is cracked so I used some "back to black" (on the rubber tip and trim) and re-assembled. I dont know if this trim can be purchased separately from the painted housing. Just use back to black on the rubber tip / trim when you wash your car to avoid further cracking / drying out.

The rubber piece that goes between the roof and the painted housing is not available separately. You have to buy the whole cover assembly from the dealer for $150 so be gentle with yours as noted above.

2001 E320 - RIP
the kit includes the rubber tip and the rubber gasket. the tip on mine was missing and the rubber gasket fell apart when i removed the antenna mount - best bet, if the gasket is original then it's no good and you should replace it too. with the new tip you'll need to drill out the hole a little bit for it to fit snug all the way and sit flush.

got mine here, $32.60 shipped.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-2002-2003-Mercedes-Benz-E320-Antenna-Mast-Cover-/310198391885?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Part s_Accessories&fits=Make%3AMercedes-Benz|Model%3AE320|Year%3A2001&hash=item483943d44d

This worked for me.

I've replaced mine with rubber cap+gasket from these guys:

http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200...enna_seal.html

(Their prices, though, seems to be creeping up ever so slightly over
the years....I seem to remember it being only $15 or so when I first
ordered them several years back.)

Car washes pretty much rippes these things off the roof so I've had to
replace mine about two or three times now.

Hope this helped.
