Where is my oil filter located?
Great. I know the E430's oil filter is up on top in the front. But my E420 engine is different. Don't have my car manual either, so where is it?

Under the air filter assembly. You have to remove the air filter assembly first.
Then you need a 13mm socket to remove the lid to the cannister where the fitler sits.
Finally, when you are done replacing the filter and gaskets, you need to tighten it with a torque rench to about 15 ft.lbs. If you tighten it too much, you will ruin the aluminum treads of your engine.
I wish changing the filter and oil was a simpler task. I use synth. oil every 5000 miles so I don't have to mess with it all the time.
