E320 '97 straight six oil leak at head

For the record my 1996 SL320 with the M104 engine leaks. So what ever they did to fix it didn't work. I am going to live with it until it gets bad enough that I have to fix it.

I just found this link regarding the straight 6 head gasket leak (which I have at the rear passenger area of the head). You mentioned a re-torque solved your problem. I'm losing about a quart every 700 miles or so, plus water to a lesser degree (the water I don't see leaking and the oil is clean).
I digress, but my real question is did the re-torque really help?
What torque (in lbs)? I heard it was 40 lbs + a 90 deg additional twist.
What downsides are there in trying this? I see little.
By the way, I'm from the n/w burbs of Chi-town, and originally from the hand state. Ya Hey Der!
