So what iv'e noticed with BMWs...
So what iv'e noticed after moving to BMW. First off, the forums are much more childish. The BMW forums have much faster responses, but the responses are always done by kids or young adults with huge egos. As soon as they find out that you don't know something, they treat you like you are stupid. Then they tell you what needs to be done after showing you how stupid you are. Even though one would continue to tell them that they are NEW to the car so they don't know everything about it yet. These forums were MUCH more helpful to me and I really miss all you guys.
Mercedes will always be > than BMW with respect in my book. And yes, it's partly because of the drivers.

Wow...
I guess MB people are more of the 'think before you speak' type, eh? No offense to people that drive any other type of car, but some, if not most, BMW drivers are a certain kind of people. Same goes for the minivan drivers...ahhh...and that's a whole different story.
*thinking to self about minivan drivers* "They make a passing lane for a reason, NOT to just ride in it going 3 over the speed limit and block traffic for a mile back..."
*thinking to self about some BMW drivers* "I'm not here to race you...I'm just going to go to the grocery store...geez."

The BMW you own and the forum you visit will have a great impact on your experience on the forum.
For example, expect tons and tons of what you experienced on the E46 forum on bimmerforums.com. These cars have become cheap enough to fall into the hands of teenagers as their first car, usually with high miles, and have no clue about a car, or money to repair it. Lots of painted brake calipers, cosmetic "upgrades" and *****ing about how failed auto trannies and MAFs should be recalled. Sound familiar?
The opposite would be true for say an E28 M5 on roadfly.org.
BTW, what did you get?
edit: nevermind, I found your post on the 325ci.

you have/had a BMW and a Mercedes judging by your signature's M3 and E430 picture. Do you know what i'm talking about seeing that your opinion, like mine isn't as biased seeing that we both have hands on experience with both cars?
and someone show me the thread you are talking about haha

I agree w/ you. I used to post on Bimmerforum some years ago but like you said its become childish. I guess that the bad thing about these things losing value that they fall into the wrong hands.
I also think the demo's between say an E class and 3 series would contribute to the childish responses.
The M is my wifes and she is a cool car chic to me

And insurance deductables! I wasn't really thinking about that, then a $1500 bill showed up, along with several hundred of not covered stuff. We just took our 3 month old on a 3000 mile road trip. Thank god he slept just fine in the car. Took the Benz, cuz the BMW was way too small to have a infant seat and an adult in the back.
Congrats, and change that picture already.

And thanks, i'll take a look at the m3 forum. They are basically the same platform, so i can still get help from there.

thanks and ouch on that bill
i will soon, my car was recently broken into; still waiting for my insurance check so i can fix everything they vandalized, stole my kenwood kvt-617dvd deck, idiots couldnt get the brain though
unfortunately the losers also damaged all the console as well as the glove box and the climate control unit (dont know what the hell they were doing trying to take that out with a screw driver) hell i should take pictures of all this to show you guys for the ouch factor, oh did i mention they ruined my driver side window pillar by prying at it with something that appears to be a screw driver? or that they stole one of my HID ballists and ripped out my fog light wires?
the ballists were easy to fix cuz i had a pair of old ballists lying around that i could have put back on, and the fog lights work fine now that i fixed the plug and wire that was pulled out..
btw: if you ever move to new bedford massachusetts; dont leave your mercedes benz unattended to for more than 15 minutes on any street within 600 feet of any housing projects.. it was a hard lesson learned for me
if you want to see this let me know ill take pictures, its just ridiculous how elaborately they cut under the bumper to get to my fog light connections and ballists...
