Xenons vs. Depo Projectors

I have the OEM Xenon headlamps and recently saw a white European wagon like mine that has the Depo projector headlamps with the trim ring surrounds. On a white car it really looked nice. What are the thoughts about making the swap or not and why?

They are the factory oem xenons in the option package E1 for $1,150.00 with the headlamp washers. Did I misquote? That is off the original window sticker that I have.

That is the correct picture. I did misquote. Sorry for the confusion. It is Option package E1 includes headlamp wash system and xenon headlamps. I did change title of thread to correct my error. Any thoughts as to original question?

why?
- looks better (to many)
- upgraded design to more modern, 211 look

why not?
- Depo design woefully inferior vs 210 HID in terms of performance
- go get better lighting, you'd have to yank out the guts and substitute
E55, Maxima, or 211 bixenon projector (technically illegal)
- you'll lose the autoleveling feature
- 211 bixenon, clear lens headlight will not fit (PnP) the 210

Thanks Raymond. I stayed up and read both threads. It looks like an involved project and cash outlay. What bulbs would you recommend to upgrade the existing OEM Xenons and also is there a high beam bulb upgrade that would give a brighter blue/white light than the stock yellowish? And while I am pestering do you recommend a driving light upgrade with a matched color to the xenons? Thanks again for staying up and helping a newcomer to this model.

You do have factory xenons..they are not bi, hence the bad high beam...to get a brighter high beams, might I suggest Silvania Silverstars. Your factory xenons are very good lights if properly adjusted.

According to the info when I purchased my 210 (2002), it has Bi-Xenon. The way I understand it, Bi-Xenon just means that the low beam xenon lights stay on when you turn on the high beams.

Bi Xenon Headlights were NOT offered on the W210

As Bi xenon headlights have a Low AND High beam that are Xenon..Most have a shutter that changes the light pattern..like a 203/211

The W210 only has a Xenon LOW Beam...
