Can't Set The Clock Anymore
I pulled the Comand System from my '2000 E and now I can't figure out how to set the clock in the instrument cluster. The only way the books says you can do it is by using the Comand System which I don't have anymore (replaced with Kenwood DNX 8120). The menu for the clock on the steering wheel contols are different if you have the Comand installed, they only let you choose 12 hr or 24 hr clock, no time set. Any suggestions?

Cars with COMAND doesn't have the option for setting the clock as it's updated via the COMAND. The COMAND unit reads the time from satellite.
So you will have to go to the dealer and remove navigation from the instrument cluster menu in star diagnosis. then you will get the set time option in the settings menu.

In case the dealer doesn't know how to do this:
-start SD and select correct vehicle
-Go to instrument cluster (ICM)
-Control unit adaptions
-Variant coding
-Optional equipment
-Navigation is set to present, disable it
-Save the new configuration and you're good to go

Thank you. Your advice worked.
I upgraded my command unit with a SONY XAV AX5000 as my command lcd had faded and gone dark.
I followed your steps on my E240 2001 at the benz specialist garage today.
I can set my time on the instrument cluster using my steering controls.
cheers.
