I am just curious to see how fast someone has taken their e class.. Please dont post lectures just because "you are against going fast because it puts peoples lives in danger... blah blah blah" We all know this and do it because of natural causes that happen in a man.. O and tell me what kind of E it is..

I took it to 125 while in cruise control on accel (so no downshift) against a civic SI just to see if i could beat him. That was funny. :p Still had plenty of power, but i already made my point to the guy so i let off. The funny thing is that it sounds the same going 125 as it does going 70, lol. 96 E320

yeah all E's and S classes are like that.. specially the S class.. We used to have a 1999 s600 and went on a family vacation with it and my dad punched it while mom was sleeping.. went to 155 and she didnt even wake up.. that car was awesome beyond reason..

I have got a slightly modified '99 E55 with no limiter. My speedo goes to 280 kph (174 mph). My car is faster than that, aproximatly 295 kph (183 mph).

I live in Sweden. Pump gas is 99 octane and there are a lot of long straight freeways!

jesus christ.. ive driven an 01' E55 (my dads a car dealer) and its real fast.. but prly never have the ***** to do 170! went pretty fast in an ML55

Just last weekend I took my car for the very first time to 110mph. Since I have had the car I have been babying it, never exceeding 80mph on freeway. I must say didn't feel a thing, what a nice ride it was.

yepp thas a benz for ya.. try takin a 98' lexus at 110.. u feel like the car is gonna flip over cuzz they are so light.. deff dont like japenese cars.. rice burners

Have taken my 97 E420 to 140 mph this fall, but despite lowered Eibach springs, KYB-A gas shocks, and AMG 3-piece monoblocks with Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires, had a rather unsettled floaty, twitchy feeling to the car above 130; My 500SL is older, and has NO suspension mods, yet feels more planted and secure at 155 mph...500SL is a much better car than E420 for high-speed jaunts.

yes, because its a 2 door sports car.. thats the only reason.. the w210 wasnt really made to go that fast for long periods of driving times.. i dont think.. but the S600 flies like no other.. the SL is prolly better, but that sedan is amazing at high speeds..

Ive cruised in my 01 4matic at 130 mph. That is all it will go since it is governed from the factory to only let you go that fast.

Just yesterday I drove my 97 E420 at 130mph on a slightly curvy road, and it still had plenty of power to go but I had to slow down since it started to feel floaty. In the past I have driven my 89 420SEL, and S420 in excess of 130mph but felt very secure and did not feel that my car is loosing grip.

I used to be a mechanic and started street racing when I was 16. I take the E430 over 100 mph several times a week. Unfortunately due to the limiter it stops at 140, a place I have been many times racing other cars. But as mentioned it floats at higher speeds giving you that uncomforatable feeling that your not in control LOL as if you could control anything at those speeds!

Once in a highway with amg´s 18 hitted about 265km/h (going down a little hill)

Car: 96 E280 193hp OEM with brabus exhaust , no cat and K&N.

145mph on trips to Vegas & San Francisco, with ECU Upsolute mod & speed limiter removed, Bistein HD shock, and Goodyear F1-GS-D3 tires. Car felt very stable, and it look like I could squeze some more out of it, but that's all by brain could handle.

For car w/o ECU mod, how can your guys take it pass 135 ? I could never do that before. Speed limiter kicked in as I hit 135.

125mph at I5 south bound (to LA) but i know it could go faster. had to slow it down ... on ramp approaching fast where most CHP wait for speeders

Im not sure why some guys are feeling a little floaty at these speeds. I regularly drive my 96 320 with bilstein hd's, 1" pads, 18" lorinser lm1's, and some other stuff as fast as i can push it (as high as 137-139mph, electronically limited)

I must say, this car has as much command on the road at 135mph, as it does at 80! Smooth and very controlled. Might be the shocks

QUESTION: Who's got their ECU upgraded that can tell us how the new program feels in the power band, and the new top speed?

W124 has a better suspension than the newer Benzo's in my opinion.

I gone 130 also in my 1998 e320 with my friends 1997 e420 with 20's on 101 south from San Jose, however that is about as fast as I could go due to the governer.

I hit 120 last night with a Sti on highway 1 from monterey

Took my E430 to the limiter (155mph) racing a "99 BMW 540i. He was a car length ahead at that speed. Unfortunately the police saw us and I have received a ticket for 149mph, drag racing, reckless driving and some other not so pleasant charges that I don't care to mention. Good time though and yes it felt a little floaty over 140mph. I have had my new E55 up to 153mph and it didn't float at all. Rock solid and still pulling. Great cars!!!
