Which year W210 4Matic to buy?
Hello guys - new to this board here. I currently have a 1997 BMW 540i 6-speed - lightly modded. I love it and want to get my wife a comparable car, but also wish for her to have either FWD or AWD. After some thought, I think that the E430 (or E320) 4Matic would be a good choice. I'm also considering the Audi A6 4.2 Quattro.
If I were to go with the MB, which year, for $35K or less, would be best? Which years should I stay away from, from a maintenance standpoint? Is there a "welcome package" or "FAQ link" for these specific cars? I do all of my own maintenance on my 540i and would love to be able to do the same for the Merc.
Are there any particular options that I should keep in mind when I'm browsing?

Get a white one... Silver is the easiest. It hardly shows the dirt. Light Desert Brown or Gold are nice too.
