costly automatic transmission oil
I need help! I'm having my e320 transmission repaired, it has been costly and the car is still being repaired on till now. i'm trying to cut down on the expense. Is there any alternative automatic transmission oil/fluid that i can use, instead of having to buy recommended "lifetime oil"?

The cost of the fluid you use is a small part of the total expense. Some people have stated that Fuchs Titan is a comparable brand and might be the supplier to MB for their own branded ATF. But to be absolutely sure you are getting the right juice I would look for an MB label or at least the MB specification on the bottle. If you have the 722.6 transmission in your 1997 you need MB spec 236.10.

Here is another thought as a partial ditto to desired_speeds:
If the guy can get off the shelf at any auto store Valvoline Maxlife. Sbucks at Walmart if they have a Walmart. Meets NAG1/722.6 mb specs.
Here is the US, Shell 134 and Maxlife (I forgot about both of those earlier) are quite inexpensive compared to the MB labelled one from the dealers.
