Lookin for advice from W210 owners

Achtung meine Herren!! I am looking for feedback on a 2001 E320 with a 133K miles I am thinking about buying. The car is a one owner with all scheduled A and B service only being done at the Sacramento Mercedes dealership along defect part(s) or wear and tear items that were kaputt were replaced by the owner (one owner Carfax with the service history confirmed). The dealer (none Mercedes) is asking $5995.00. I would prefer a 2002 E320 but they are hard to find. Since I want to start being a DIY owner, can you W210 owners tell me what you think. The paint, body work and interior are in very good condition as well as never have been in a accident. I am also looking at a W211 2003 E500 but we all know the W210 is more reliable so I have been told). Please let me know what you think.

2000 Mercedes Benz E320 W210
Sounds like a solid 210 from the description and the price is pretty accurate (for the benz your describing).

As far as buying a w210 vs a w211...i'd definitely say w210 all the way. My dad has 211 (2004 e500) and it has way more problems than my 320 due to having more features... button to close trunk, more complex seat components, etc.

Hope you get some feed back from other members but from the post i'd say it's not a bad buy at all. The 3.2 is such a solid engine and reasonably priced.

hoped this helped, best of luck

When looking at cars which are 10-15yrs old, the averages are no longer of much importance. How the particular car you are considering has been cared for is much more important. Good service records are important but so is a written PPI by a competent MB technician.

I have always paid for a PPI which I did on my 2003 BMW 330i and my Frau's 2004 C230K even though I bought it from Mercedes Benz of Sacramento. Got them to replace a few wear items that they didn't think needed to be replaced (i.e. pay for in the recon).

It's also a useful list for items that may not require immediate attention and are candidates for DIY. If you like the car I would offer ~$5400 and negotiate from there.

Seems to be what I have been reading and what the Mercedes Tech said at the independent Repair Shop I use on the wife's 2004 C230K. I would really like a E320 CDI but they are very difficult to find in either a W210 or W211.

Oh don't worry. I have never paid the asking price for any German car (or other make) I have purchased.
