BAS ABS ETS RESPECT all on!
So long story short, I had both rear brakes lock up and stay on for an extended period, I posted about it awhile back and figured out a path forward (I thought). Anyway I would leave car alone for awhile and things would go back to normal, never any warning lights except "brake linings"--no duh! Anyway took it to a good indy benz shop and they verified that ABS module/pump had issues.
I got rid of that pump and swapped it for one off ebay (its an ASR unit but part # isn't quite the same), worth a try. Now I have all the fault lights I could dream of all involving traction and the brakes. So I go back to the benz shop they get this code after clearing all codes C1310-000 A7/3YF8. This supposedly means "front axle switchover solenoid valve" --cable could have open or short circuit.
What does that have to do with what got me here? I guess I have no choice but to believe the code given, but that had nothing to do with what got me to this point, should I suspect this new used ABS pump since I did not have any of these codes (except brake lining wear) prior to installing it?

Hi Plutoe, I remember an equally famous quote of yours from the last thread I posted
"FYI you are about to embarke on a very expensive adventure that at this point is based upon hearsay----do your self a huge favor and find a shop with factory equal software and have the module tested---if I was going to spend 800 to 1000 bucks I sure as S would want to know beforhand the problem and fix.
So whats an extra 75 bucks!!"
So $265 later (yes I need a new mechanic consultant), they found no pertinent codes, he has pulled codes the last couple times I've been there, so I assumed he did this time as well. He concluded that the ABS module was at fault, some mechanical passage within it (He flushed the lines etc.), so I acted on his advice and swapped it. I had no warning lights prior to the swap other than "brake linings"

Original ABS pump: A 210 431 00 12 (ASR)
New used ABS pump: A 003 431 30 12 (ASR)

There certainly isn't any fitment issues, they are both asr units same line locations, same multi pin connector, although I will look closer at pins tomorrow. I did install component with battery connected which probably wasn't smart but....
Thanks for your help, I guess I'll go fishing for the exact same part #, foolish but I thought it could be flashed or something and I'd be good as gold
I think I'll forget about the other fault code for now right? It wasn't a problem with the other unit in place.
