Pics of the Bi-Xenon headlights...
Sorry if this is a repost, saw this over at Benzworld...
Looks great, has anyone else done this mod? Doc, I thought this was your car, but then I noticed the V8 and rims... looks hot though!

4 wheeled car.
Well i got OEM HID's in my car....
Richard, how is the light's beam pattern? You're using an aftermarket HID kit aren't you? Is that thing all outta whack?
I love my current headlights, as they are stock and self leveling, but I hate the looks of the headlights.
Do you know if the current light bulb I have can be used in conjunction with the new inpro light housing?

Doc... You can always have the best of both worlds...make use of the OEM HIDs on the weekdays, and throw the ellipsodial projector style ones on the weekends when pimpin the clubs
Yes, I'm using an aftermarket HID kit...gotta say my OEM HID were kickin!!! the set-up now doesn't provide the broad area of illumination & the cut-off line is not as sharp as the OEM...and since the gas filled arc of the HID bulb is not in the same position as the filament of the original halogen bulb, their is a slight uneven light pattern. I did install HID fogs which helps rectify some of the issues.
I did look into retrofitting my OEM HID components to the projector housing, called a couple of my buddies shops asked for some insight/advice...one shop in Alhambra did say " it can be done just bring it on by", as I drove by the place it looked real ghetto and I never heistated to stop.
The initial issue of the D2S bulb on my OEM were too long...it would touch the reflective shield inside the projector housing, which may cause a short-circuit. I though of inserting a heat resistant washer on the bulb that would reduce the length & increase the spacing, also prevent moisture & dirt from entering the housing...but an eager buyer for the OEMs could no longer wait.
Regards

I must say the projector lights and Xenons are hot..I'm thinking of getting them myself now!
however, don't the W210 OEM HID use H7 HID bulbs?
That would mean the projectors would fit straight in with the factory xenons. or perhaps diff merc in diff countries uses diff bulb setups?
in the future, I'll probably be using Hella Xenons for the car. Just waiting to get comfirmation that the inpros aren't made in taiwan.
estimated cost here will be about RM5000 all up...still pricey, but putting richards pics on just makes me want it!!

A D2S bulb is only for a projectory beam setup.

Did you use the projectors that came with those headlamps or did you retrofit some Valeo projectors, these are used on Audi A4/S4's.

interesting..
i think for those wanting to convert from stock H7s to Xenons, will probably have to purchage a ballast with a HID H7 fittings, so it would fit into the stock mount. It probably could be retorfitted to fit in the DSR bulbs and all, but would probably be way pricey.. :P
I'm waiting for the inpros richard//really am..might not really care now whether they're made in Germany or Taiwan! lol
