2000 E 320 4Matic Wagon & 1993 Toyota Camry
2000 W210 4-Matic Wagon totaled.

My wife was in two accidents in our 2000 E 320 4-Matic wagon this month. The first one was a hit and run by an unlicensed teen. There was front end damage, but not enough to total out the car. Last night my wife was in a second, more serious frontal impact accident. The damage will total the car. My wife & our three young children are uninjured, and that's the important thing. The other driver was injured, but the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

We have loved this car over the past five years, and planned to have it for many more. Even though the car is now fifteen years old, it's demise feels untimely. It was a fantastic car, and in the end it did a great job protecting my family.

I now find myself in the unfortunate position of having to shop for a new car with whatever money I can wrestle away from the insurance company. We bought our first home nine months ago and are still adjusting to the mortgage payment, so financing a car doesn't seem prudent. I'd like another wagon, but they're pretty scarce and I don't think I'd ever find one as clean and as well maintained as ours. Any suggestions for a large, SAFE, all wheel drive vehicle that seats at least five, preferably 7, and can be had for $10-15k?

Used GL450. Third row seats are awesome. I’m 6’1” and I can sit in the third row without my knees smashed into the seat backs. Resale value is poor so a used one can be had for a great price.

Everything has been great for me except for the air suspension. Had mine for 5 years now and changed both front air struts and one rear air spring, new air compressor and new air valve block. Still in malfunction mode and does not want to rise up. Rant and complaint. No problem. I ordered the coil spring conversion. No more air suspension problems. I don’t have the off-road package air suspension with multiple heights so I really never used the extend height except for boredom. Won’t be missed. I do like the air suspension in my Range Rover and Cayenne. Both those system have multiple height selections to make it more useful for sport and exiting the vehicle.

Engine and transmission has been great. Reminds me of the Toyota Landcruiser and german. I tried to sell mine a couple years ago. Price was so low compared to what I paid. Decided to just keep it.
