E320 Won't shift out of park
So, the transmission on my e320 had a few leaks and being handy and finding the right resources online I decided I would fix them myself. The part where I think I caused the issue was when I finished replacing the Parking Lock Interlock Linkage (PLIL).
Here's what happened. I followed the following procedure to remove and the old PLIL and replace it with the new one. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...10151844,d.cWw
In the middle of removing the detent plate with tapered rod I wanted to see how the shifting worked. So, I went into the car and shifted out of park into the other gears. When I first shifted out of park I heard something like a spring. Anyway, I realized that what I had done might have been pretty dumb but I couldn't see how anything had really been. I put it back in park and continued the removal process.
I finished replacing the linkage for the parking lock shift lock but now I can't shift the car. I'm trying to figure out if the reason was because of the installation of the parking lock shift lock or if it had to do with when I shifted the car out of park.
