Why Does The A/C do this?

Is this normal:

For the A/C to blow very hot air and at times to blow cool air when the outside air temp is around the same and the a/c unit is at auto and say 70 degrees?

I think so. My AC does I think what he is saying, blows cold sometimes when when the temp. is set to be warm and vice versa. I've heard this discussed many times before and my mechanic said that it's just the way the AC system works on MB's sometimes...Am I misuderstanding something???

I've had that happen. Cold air blows in the winter with the temp set at 72F. Its usually when the car is sitting in the sun and the temp sensor may be directly in the sun. Therefore it blows cold air until I move the car. Then it quickly turns warm when it moves out of the sun and the temp of the sensor adjusts. I think it's working correctly.

i had the evap temp. sensor replaced, and had the freeon crap flushed and refilled, and that fixed the same exact problem as yours. Don't take it to the stealership, Mark stated that the evap temp. sensor can be replaced in less than 10 minutes. =)

I'm Just wondering

if a steady stream of 72 degrees air (for example) is supposed to come out of the vents, or does the car blast 80+ degrees or 60- degrees to bring the car to 72 degrees.

One would think that a steady temperature from the vents would be more efficient than blowing hot air, then it gets too hot, so start to blow cold air, and this up and down fluctuation...

Also, if the car is Economy mode and you want a certain warm temperature [eg 72 degrees], would that not guarantee a steady regular temperature of 72 degrees? (I have to try this later)...

4 wheeled car.
Yaeh I'm having that problem too. It's 80 degrees outside, I put the temp on LO, EC not on, no cold air.

But if I leave the car off, then turn it on. AC comes up and eventually starts to go hot again...

Called up Mark : temp sensor.
