Silver W210's????

Hola everyone. I was curious to see if anyone out there has a silver Eclass w/ chrome rims. As some of you know, I just bought my baby about 2 weeks ago & am now in the process of deckin' it out. Started w/ the tints, now the custom stereo, & finally 18" rims/tires. Some of you have said that I should get polished look w/ silver, but I just want to get visuals. Also, I'm not lowering the car, so can I go w/ 18x9.5 all around? Thanks guys.

BTW, I have a 4matic so I know that i cant stagger the setup.:(

Another question........will this setup fit a 2000 W-210 (LUG PATTERN IS 5X112 OFFSET 35MM)??? Thanks again.

No complaints here....!!

I happen to think silver(my case, Quartz silver metallic) is an easy color to keep clean, looks nice even when dirty. My wheels are brilliant silver w/stainless lips,I think you can get the idea.:zoom: :naughty:

Silver with polished Carlsson 1/5's:

Silver with Chromed AMG's (IMO, better with White :D ):

Silver on Silver Carlsson 1/6....I like this look (yo Jimmy :D !) - kind of matches the body color very nicely but the polished look is also nice:

Another Carlsson, 2/6 Brilliant Silver finish (shinier than Jimmy's silver paint and same as Stemag's), looks good too and I'm torn between this finish and the polished but I think all three works well:

BTW, IMHO don't do 9.5 all round if you have the choice.

Too wide for the front (Kicker may be able to tell you about his probs) and takes away steering response and pickup. 8.5 or 8" (around ET31-35 would be fine) in the front would be fine and 9.5" rears is a good size for a good balance between handling and pick up (approx. ET38 should be fine). Good luck on your choice.

you must use 235/45/18 tires.

How aboaut a silver center with a polished lip:

8.5" is the limit.....

I have to agree with Whitey, currently I have a setup with 18x9 all around, I have about 2-3 mm before start rubing my front tires. It really slows down pick up speed, loosing some steering response, and you won't able to lower your vehicle like 4X4 looking..... So I recommend 8.5" width is your MAX. I am in the process of switching out front two peice with 18x8 with another member, hopefully everything will go well. :)

Ok guys, thanks for all the pics & advice. I now I'll have to go 18x8.5's all around for the 4matic. Whitey, those chrome AMG's in your pic look solid. Thats an option that i never even thought about. However, I do like the polished look too.........Decisions; Decisions. I will keep all of you posted w/ pics in the near future. BTW, you guys have some sweet rides.

9" Goodyears

These Max-Perform F1 GS D3's Im using are 5/8" wider than the Turanza's I sold, 9" all around to be exact.I find they find the ruts in the pavement and you gotta hold on sometimes to keep em straight. But they look nice, great performers in rain and dry roads, and ride is smoothest Ive had yet. Whitey, you think this is acceptable?:hammer:

I havent noticed a decline in steering response, they do what I want them to.Interesting how you can get a different width tire from certain makers, when you use the same description sidewalls.

Whitey Mar 28, 2004 08:19 PM

I dfidn't know those wheels came with 9"...only 8" here......that would be swee.

Good to hear you've found a "donor"! Let us know how you go....Oh, don't forget to check the offset this time -> ET35-38 would be the sweetest with 8". Keep us posted.

guillermo, personally I wouldn't do chrome with a brilliant silver body....it goes well with black and darker colors and white....somehow not too well with silver, but of course that's JMHO.

Thanks for posting the pic. Dave. I agree, silver or even black on a silver Benz, no chrome IMO. I have a high polished lip on my 1/6's now and I like it a lot but that's as far as I'd go. 9.5's in the front?! No way, those will rub all over the place if you can get them to even fit. Also yes, MY00+ W210 wheels will fit our cars, the specs. are the same.

Hey guys, any feedback on these wheels would be greatly appreciated. I love the shine on these babies. If I got them, I would make sure to do 18x8.5 all around. Also, if any of you have these wheels already, please send pics. BTW, have any of you done business w/ the wheel exchange? Thanks again.

Alexbenz has these on his Benz but they're 19's. I personally like them in 19 staggered like his, 19X8.5 front & 19X10 rear.

Whitey Mar 29, 2004 08:15 PM

Alexbenz does NOT have "these":hammer: I think he'd consider it an insult........:D
