While driving my car seems to go to another gear but still in drive. It want change out. I have to pull over turn off a few minutes restart ad is then fie

Do you have the 722.6 or the 722.9 transmission (5 versus 7-speed)? On the 722.6, a mechanical/hydraulic fault will cause the transmission to go into "limp" mode, but cycling the ignition key on/off/on will clear the fault until it occurs again. An electrical fault will leave the transmission in "limp" mode until the fault is cleared using the diagnostic system.

I'm not familiar with the 722.9 but would assume it "faults" the same as the earlier transmission but this is pure conjecture. It could be as simple as low hydraulic fluid but you really, really need to have the codes read with a diagnostic system that will decipher Mercedes transmission fault codes.
