Daytime running lights - central locking "hot wire" location

Hi everyone here is my project.
My daughter ran over a mattress in the road at night a few weeks ago breaking her driving light (2002 E320 Sport). Everyone was OK..
I found the halo & light combo on Ebay and bought a set.
Im wanting to use the Halo portion of the light as a daytime running light.
All I can come up with is the wire that becomes "hot" at 9mph and locks the doors to use to activate the running lights.
Has anyone located this wire in any adventures?
Or any other ideas how to activate running lights automatically?
Have a great day everyone

I hooked up DRLs on my '97. I found a fuse in the under hood fuse box, that came on when the key was turned on. I believe it was the cig. lighter fuse. The radio fuse would work but it may be in the dash.

Yea I thought about using a wire like that. But I'm wanting something that comes on & off with movement. All I can think of is the door locking system

wouldn't the door locking system just give a pulse to lock the doors, and another reverse polarity pulse to unlock them? I am not sure how that system works.

This is true, door lock/unlock are a pulse to send a signal and are not constant.

Aww, I didn't think of that.
Guess I'll go another route.
Thanks everyone
