All Exterior Lights + Dash Light Dark

Mercedes W210 E220 1999
All Exterior Lights + Dash Light Dark
Hi, student and hobby mechanic from Norway here!
Been searching for hours on this problem and can not find anything like it.
Car: MB W210 E220 CDI 1999 mod sedan.
So, the problem: Drove home last night, and suddenly all exterior lights went dark. This also includes the lights in the dashboard. Almost like the light control switch had been set to the 0 position. Only thing that worked was the headlight flasher, the one that is activated by pulling the lever towards the steering wheel.
So i drove home holding it and with constant high beam.
Worth noting is that this happened once last year, when switching from low to high beam. Total darkness. Switching back to low beam would turn lights back on, then high also worked.
Is it the steering column stalk maybe?
Already tried:
- Checking all fuses with a multimeter.
- Disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes.
- Tapping lightly on the SAM and the light control switch.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
