Radio Help
Hi guys! I have a problem with my stereo, it's kind of odd. The stereo says AUDIO OFF in the screen and on the unit itself, it has no display, however the stereo works, the sound isn't so good but it works. Any ideas what could be wrong? I have a 2001 E320

Hey, I wish you luck. My 2000 E430 is now on its 3rd audio system and goes to the dealer tomorrow for its 4th. The CD changer has never worked properly since the car was new. They usually just throw a new audio system in it under warranty, but so far nothing has worked. The CD changer design is evidently flawed. Sad that we cannot get a decent sound system in our $50K cars. Cannot believe M-B still mounts changers in the trunk and not the dash.
This is one reason that this is my last Mercedes. Can you say INFINITI? Have already tested a new G35 sedan. SWEET! Going to wait until the new M45 comes out next year to make a decision.

I hear you! Actually LEXUS is calling my name... I just thought that someone here would have a quick fix for this, but I guess I'm gonna have to go to the dealership. They have to replace my cd changer(for the second time) anyway. Thanks for the reply!

Lexus and Infiniti build fine cars. But be careful, the cliche, "... can't go wrong with a "insert Japanese brand here". May not be the whole true any more. The "grass may not be greener". All cars have quirks, some more than others.

I'll keep it in mind, I'm just fed up going to the dealer all the time to fix things, my service advisor and I are getting so close I'm waiting for him to ask me to the holiday party!

Yes, my M-B dealer is a 35-40 minute ride. Plus, they are soooooo clueless on so many things.
Look at the difference in JD Power dealer surveys. See where Infiniti and Lexus are compared to M-B. Now, what is wrong with this picture? CHEVROLET is rated higher quality than M-B!
