more NLA parts
Hello,
So I washed my 02 E430 4Matic today and got it nice and clean. This afternoon I see a strange puddle under the right front wheel. Hmmm, it feels sort of like brake fluid. And the brake pedal has been a little soft. After removing the wheel I see that the brake line was rubbing on the front shock and is not leaking. I recently had the front shocks and springs replaced and i guess the shop didn't route the line properly. So I go onto the many MB parts places and I find the brake line I need. However, it is No Long Available (NLA). GRRRR. How am I suppose to replace the line? On the parts diagram there are different lines for 4Matic and RWD cars. Am I supposed to use the line from a RWD car?
The part I need is
SHOP FOR RELATED PARTS IN FRONT BRAKES
This part is for the RWD model:
Does anyone know if this is the correct part for a 4Matic car? This is getting very frustrating!
Thanks,
Barry

That part # seems to be in stock at parts.com, have you checked any local auto parts stores? I replaced both my fronts when I did my W211 Brembo swap and a local parts shop had them in stock on the shelf. If not, it's just a brake hose with M10x1.0 fittings at each end, any hydraulic shop should be able to whip out a set for you in no time for a decent price.

Hey,
So i took the hose off and brought it to the shop that did the work (and screwed up the brake line routing). The shop owner was very apologetic, called his parts guy, who had the part in stock. I went and picked it up and had it installed in under an hour. So you are correct, it's just a normal brake line. I don't understand why the MB parts diagrams don't state the 4Matic should now use the standard part.

Things don't always get updated. I work at a Harley dealership and it's not uncommon to find a mistake in a parts catalog. We can call the people that do the EPC for Harley and let them know if there's a mistake though. It's been probably a year or more since I last stumbled upon something when looking up a random part.
