Exclamation Diagnostic Tool can't connect to ECU 97 E320

HI there Hope someone can shine a light on my situation I've done a search and some reading and I'm a bit confused.

I have a 97 E320 with the M104 that will not start , the motor will crank the starter spins and motor cranks but will not start.

All else seems normal the digital portion of the cluster has no new messages or unusual messages cranks like it should just doesn't start.

I connected my diagnostic tool to the obd port and it is unable to connect with the computer, it states Link Failure it tells me to check connections and try again.

So far I have looked at all the fuses under the seat , all fuses on the left side of the dash , the fuses on the K40 relay module and the fuses on the fusebox on the passer side electronics box next to the 38 pin connector.

All Fuses are solid i even checked them with a voltage tester............... So!.... Do i have a bad computer or could the K40 relay be bad, does it have anything to do with it? I read on another post about someone replacing the first 10amp fuse
on the K 40 and it restored power to the computer but that was on a diesel and my fuses on the K40 relay were fine.
--Are there any other places with fuses in this car?
--Which fuses power the computer that i should check again.....?
--How do I verify that my computer is bad as opposed to it simply not getting juice?

Diagnostic scan tool message

Thanks for your advice and help as Im trying to save my w210

You'll only get generic codes from the OBD port, your best bet is to have the system scanned at the 38 PIN port under the hood.

Thank you for the fast reply and thanks for the tip.

I just checked for spark and verified i don't have spark !

I checked for fuel pressure and I don't have a single drop coming out of the fuel rail not even a weak stream.

I listened for the fuel pump after turning the key and nothing but silence, so i checked for voltage ...no voltage at the fuel pump terminals!

So .... no spark and no fuel!

When i turn the key the Check Engine light and the SRS light come on momentarily just as normal.

Thanks for all help so far.

As Eurow said - you can't scan this car computer with OBD - you need 38 pin adapter even if your scanner is programmed with those cars.
Fuel pump should come for couple of seconds when you turn the ignition on and then when engine is turning,
So lack of any pressure eliminated bad CPS.
At this point you really need to check car communication with high-end scanner.

Beware of scammers who ask for you VIN, where no VIN is needed.
